The Vialattea is getting ready for the skiing season 2016/2017 and the Organising Committee of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup in particular keeps on striving to organise the races. Here is a situation update: a perfect winter landscape, slopes covered in snow and very cold temperatures, snow guns working at full pace and snowmobiles flattening the snow made at night and in the coldest hours of the day. The snowfalls at the beginning of the month also helped creating a great base on all courses at high altitude.
Gualtiero Brasso, President of the Organising Committee, stated optimistically: “We started making snow in different areas in the Vialattea already last week. The temperatures are very cold and suitable to support an optimum snowmaking programme. The race course is virtually fully covered in snow and we just have to finish the high stretch of the track. In the finish area, works are being carried out according to the setups programme, and one can already recognise the facilities intended for the pressroom and the VIPs’ lounge. Also the works to set up the grandstand base started.” The soldiers of the Brigata Alpina Taurinense already joined in the works to prepare the event.
