The fifth stage of the 2019 EA7 Emporio Armani Sportour will land in Piedmont, and in particular in Sestriere – among top winter tourism locations – from February 22nd to 24th. The winter sports event – organized by RCS Sports & Events in cooperation with La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper and Radio 105, the official radio for the tour – will thus pay a visit to one of the largest ski resorts in Europe, Vialattea.
Snow-lovers who will take part in the many events planned will live the thrill of being in the very area that served as a spectacular stage for the 2006 Turin Olympic Games. The Village –the core of the event and a point of reference for information and booking of sports activities – will be located downstream of the Kandahar slope and active starting on Friday afternoon.
There are great expectations for the WeGlow event, a collective night descent which will offer participants – Saturday night, indeed at the Kandahar slope – the emotion of skiing among light and sound installations. Not a coincidental choice, in that the Kandahar was the first – in 1994 – to ever host a World Cup race at night.
As for the previous stages, the other events planned are: ski style preskige – a training session to hone one’s skiing technique through a performance assessment; snowshoe walks; snowbike tours – the new frontier for cycling lovers wishing to pedal over ice and snow on the special fat bikes; a tour of the slope with a giant slalom-type descent crossing 21 gates, inspired by the 2019 Giro d’Italia.
EA7 Emporio Armani will make available a selection of jackets to be tested on the slopes, so that skiers may appreciate the style and technology of the 2018/19 Autumn-Winter collection. Radio 105, the tour’s radio partner, will be both at the Village and at high altitude, with a music station at the upstream lift stations. The radio staff will involve those present during every stage through entertainment and promotion initiatives: Bryan Ronzani and Valeria Oliveri will narrate all the highlights of the day.
