THE 43rd UOVO D’ORO LAURETANA WON BY SCI CLUB SESTRIERE

29 March 2026

Giordani and Gros also on the awards stage alongside young talents

The 43rd edition of the Uovo d’Oro Lauretana came to a close in Sestriere. Held on 28 and 29 March 2026, the event brought over 1,700 young athletes to the Vialattea slopes, once again confirming its status as one of the most important and well-attended events in the youth skiing scene.

Competitors from all over Italy took part, as well as international participants from France, Switzerland, Spain, Andorra and Slovenia, creating two intense days of sport and international competition. The event took place in a typically wintery setting, with sunshine and temperatures well below seasonal averages on the first day, and a beautiful snowfall accompanying the young “Pulcini” racers on the second day.

At the finish area, a sponsor village provided a lively and colourful backdrop, creating a festive and engaging atmosphere. It served as a meeting point for athletes, families and fans, further enhancing the joyful spirit of the event. As tradition dictates, all participants received the classic chocolate egg at the end of the races, a sweet preview of Easter.

The event concluded with a cheerful parade through the streets of the village, led by the Villar Perosa Band, which accompanied all participants to the final awards ceremony. Two special guests attended: Claudia Giordani and Piero Gros, two great champions of Italian skiing with strong ties to the Vialattea area. This year marks the 50th anniversary of their Olympic medals, an important milestone celebrated by Vialattea with a special “Orgoglio Vialattea” plaque presented on stage during the 43rd Uovo d’Oro Lauretana, honouring their outstanding careers. Giordani and Gros also presented the prizes to the winners, offering young athletes a moment of great emotion and inspiration.

All the winners of the 2026 edition: starting with the oldest category, Allievi, who competed on the first day, Laura Fontana (Sci Club Valchisone) and Giacomo Senigagliesi (Sci Club Lancia) took first place. In the Ragazzi category, the fastest were Margherita Bianca Scialla (Sci Club Sauze 2012) and Carlo Bertazzini (Sci Club Borgata Sestriere).

On the second day, the best in the Cuccioli category were Anna Goloviznina and Thomas Endrizzi from Sci Club Falconeri Skiteam. In the Baby category, Emma Ricca (Equipe Limone) and Oscar Cecchini (Askill Livigno) topped the rankings. Finally, in the youngest category, Super Baby, the winners were Giulia Chiesa (Sci Club Borgata Sestriere) and Daniel Guiffre (Sci Club Bardonecchia).

For the second consecutive year, the 43rd Uovo d’Oro Lauretana remains on home snow, awarded to Sci Club Sestriere with 310 points, obtained thanks to the best placement of one female and one male athlete in each category (excluding Super Baby). Second place went to Equipe Limone with 231 points, followed by Mondolé Ski Team with 224 points. Among foreign clubs, Spain’s Mitico Club won with 108 points, followed by France’s Villard de Lans with 83 points, and another Spanish club, Alpi Nuria, with 80 points.

The event, organised by the Sporting Club Sestrieres with the support of the Municipality of Sestriere, was held under the patronage of the Piedmont Region, the Regional Council of Piedmont and the Metropolitan City of Turin, confirming its strategic importance for the area and for the promotion of youth sport.

Skiing on the Vialattea slopes, still in excellent snow conditions, will continue until Sunday, 12 April.
