From 1 to 3 April, three days dedicated to the top ski athletes competing for the national title.
Great competition on the slopes of the Vialattea, still excellently snow-covered, on the first day of the 2026 Italian National Championships. On Wednesday 1 April, the first race for the Italian Women’s Giant Slalom title took place in Sestriere. On the iconic Kandahar Giovanni Alberto Agnelli piste, long known for hosting major international ski events, the best athletes of the national team faced a course designed to offer a highly technical and spectacular challenge.
The 2026 Italian Women’s Giant Slalom title was claimed by the very young Anna Trocker, born in 2008, fresh from excellent results in the World Cup finals. Representing the Seiser Alm Ski Team, she made a remarkable comeback in the second run, climbing from 5th place to the top of the leaderboard, leaving behind Ilaria Ghisalberti of the Centro Sportivo Carabinieri, who had finished first in the opening run, just 17 hundredths of a second behind. Elisa Platino, also third after the first run, completed the podium, finishing 47 hundredths of a second behind.
Following the opening day dedicated to the women’s giant slalom, the Italian National Championships will continue tomorrow, Thursday 2 April, with the Men’s Giant Slalom. The first run is scheduled for 9:00 and the second run at 11:30. The final day will feature the Women’s and Men’s Slalom, with races starting at 8:30 and the second run at 12:00, to award the last national titles.
