SATURDAY 6 JUNE: GIRO D’ITALIA WOMEN ARRIVES IN SESTRIERE

03 June 2026

Everything is ready in Sestriere to welcome the finish of the Giro d’Italia Women. On Saturday 6 June, the resort at 2,035 metres above sea level will host the finish of the penultimate stage of the race, from Rivoli to Colle delle Finestre and Sestriere-Vialattea. This 105-kilometre mountain stage is expected to play a decisive role in determining the overall outcome of the race. The iconic climb to Colle delle Finestre and the final ascent to Sestriere, the highest point of the Vialattea international ski area, are likely to prove decisive in the battle for this year’s Maglia Rosa.

DISCOVER THE STAGE

On Saturday 6 June, the Giro d’Italia Women will start from Rivoli at 2.00 pm. The riders will pass through Trana and Giaveno before entering the Susa Valley, crossing Avigliana, Villar Dora, Condove, Villar Focchiardo, San Giorio, Bussoleno, Susa and Meana di Susa.

From there, they will begin the climb to Colle delle Finestre, the “Cima Alfonsina Strada”, the highest point of the entire route, dedicated to the first woman ever to take part in the men’s Giro d’Italia. After descending through Pian dell’Alpe, Balboutet and Pourrières, the riders will tackle the final climb from Pragelato via Borgata to the finish line in Sestriere. The leading riders are expected to arrive at around 5.15 pm.

TRAFFIC INFORMATION

To ensure the safe running of the race, temporary road closures will be in place on the afternoon of Saturday 6 June along the route used by the race. In particular, on the Chisone Valley side, the SR25 road between Pourrières and Colle del Sestriere is expected to be closed to traffic for approximately two hours during the afternoon, depending on the progress of the race. In addition, from the morning onwards, traffic through the Colle area will be diverted via Via Europa and Strada Azzurri d’Italia to allow the set-up of the finish area. This will mainly affect Via Pinerolo, Piazza Agnelli and the Kandahar car parks, which will be closed to traffic.

Sestriere will remain accessible at all times from the Susa Valley side. However, during the afternoon it will not be possible to travel towards the Chisone Valley until the official end-of-race vehicle has passed.
