More summer lifts to enjoy the mountains at high altitude!
Vialattea’s summer season is already underway with the Sportinia chairlift in Sauze d’Oulx, which has been operating since the end of June. From Saturday 25 July, the Sestriere–Fraiteve gondola will also open, further expanding Vialattea’s summer offering for mountain lovers, hikers and mountain bikers.
The gondola provides easy access to the summit of Monte Fraiteve, at an altitude of 2,700 metres, an ideal starting point for panoramic hikes, nature trails and mountain bike routes. It is also the perfect option for anyone wishing to spend a few hours surrounded by nature, admire breathtaking Alpine scenery and enjoy the pleasant temperatures of the high mountains during the summer.
Passengers can also get off at the intermediate station, located at 2,300 metres above sea level, where a picnic area has been created in a beautiful Alpine setting. This natural panoramic terrace overlooking Sestriere is the perfect place to relax, take a break and enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding peaks.
The opening of the Sestriere–Fraiteve gondola is part of Vialattea’s wider strategy to enhance its summer tourism offering, developed in collaboration with the Municipalities of Sestriere and Sauze d’Oulx, their respective Tourist Consortia and Turismo Torino e Provincia, with the aim of making the mountains increasingly accessible and enjoyable throughout the summer.
From 1 August, the service will be further expanded with the opening of the Nube d’Argento chairlift in Sestriere Borgata and the Rocce Nere chairlift in Sauze d’Oulx, completing the network of lifts available to hikers, mountain bikers and anyone wishing to experience the mountains during the summer.
Opening times
All lifts will operate daily from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm, according to the following schedule:
- Sportinia chairlift (Sauze d’Oulx): open until 30 August
- Sestriere–Fraiteve gondola (Sestriere): 25 July – 23 August
- Nube d’Argento chairlift (Sestriere Borgata): 1–23 August
- Rocce Nere chairlift (Sauze d’Oulx): 1–23 August
