Sestriere has been a landmark venue for the White Circus since the very beginnings of skiing. Legendary national and international competitions have taken place on the snow of Sestriere: from the Alpine Ski World Cup, which held its very first race on the Sestriere slopes back in 1967, to the 1997 Sestriere World Ski Championships and the XX Turin 2006 Winter Olympic Games.
More than half a century of history during which the greatest champions on the world stage have been crowned.
The Women’s Alpine Skiing Europa Cup, stopped in Sestriere on 9 and 10 January 2026.
The most recent editions of the Europa Cup stopped in Sestriere in January 2024 and 2026, featuring two women’s giant slalom races. In 2024 Lara Della Mea climbed onto the third step of the podium in the second giant slalom. Previously, the Europa Cup had been held in Sestriere in the 2016, 2014, 2001 and 1997 editions.
In the 2014 edition, two giant slaloms and one slalom were contested, and it was the very young Marta Bassino who stood out, achieving a first and a second place in the giant slalom.
The legendary Kandahar Giovanni Alberto Agnelli course will host the races. It is a true symbol of world alpine skiing and the stage for countless international competitions of the highest prestige that have shaped the history of sport in Sestriere: from the World Cup to the World Championships, all the way to the Olympic Games.
It was on this iconic track, during the last winter season, that three spectacular Alpine Ski World Cup races were held: two giant slaloms and one women’s slalom. A stage that highlighted the talent and greatness of the champions: Federica Brignone triumphed twice in the giant slalom, while Mikaela Shiffrin wrote an unforgettable page in skiing history by claiming her 100th World Cup victory here with her slalom win.
