THE FIRST CONNECTIONS BETWEEN SKI AREAS OPEN

19 December 2025

In Vialattea, skiing starts on 6 December with the opening of the first slopes and lifts across all ski areas. In recent days, several cold days suitable for snowmaking have occurred, and a snowstorm has restored full winter conditions on the higher-altitude slopes. At the same time, the continuous work of the slope preparation teams has made additional sectors of the ski area accessible.

From Saturday 20 December, the connection between Sestriere and Sauze d’Oulx will be in operation with the opening of the first high-altitude slopes, allowing skiers to cross the Vallone del Rio Nero. However, travelling between the two areas will require the use of the Chamonier chairlift also for the downhill journey. Access to Sportinia will be possible not only from the Prariond side, but also from Jouvenceaux thanks to the opening of the Jouvenceaux–Sportinia chairlift.

Also starting from Saturday 20 December, the Cesana–Sansicario and Cesana–Claviere connections will open. On the Montiluna side, additional slopes will open, descending from Colle Bercia to Sagnalonga.

Across the entire ski area, work is ongoing to progressively open further slopes over the coming days.

For real-time updates, please consult the Vialattea bulletin on open slopes and lifts.
