THE FIRST VIALATTEA//BARDO.CUP KICKS OFF: TOP-LEVEL YOUTH SKIING MAKES ITS DEBUT AT THE BARDO.RACE STADIUM

16 March 2026

When the major ski resorts of Piedmont join forces, it’s the future of skiing that wins. On Saturday, 21 March 2026, the now well-established synergy between the two ski resorts comes to life in the first Vialattea//Bardo.Cup, an exclusive competition for young talents that officially celebrates a new season of high-level collaboration and competition.

A challenge for the most deserving

The competition is open to athletes officially registered with FISI, in the Baby, Cuccioli, Ragazzi, Allievi, and Giovani categories (both male and female), and affiliated with ski clubs from Bardonecchia or the Vialattea area. Each club will select the two most deserving athletes per category, putting the future snow stars of our region at the starting gate.

For this first edition, the goal is ambitious: the winner in each category will be awarded the Vialattea//Bardo 2026/2027 Season Pass, a prize that seals the commercial and sporting collaboration between the two destinations.

Inauguration of the Bardo.Race Stadium

The race will also be the official occasion to inaugurate the Bardo.Race Stadium, Bardonecchia Ski’s new flagship venue dedicated to high-level competitive skiing. Designed to host training for national and international teams, the stadium offers outstanding technical features:

  • Technical development: The slope extends from 2,150 meters down to 1,800 meters.

  • Dimensions: A total length of 1,450 meters with a vertical drop of 350 meters and an average width of 40 meters.

  • State-of-the-art snowmaking: A dedicated system with 26 latest-generation snow guns ensures perfect snow conditions throughout the season.

  • Approved quality: The track has already been tested by World Cup athletes, who praised its slope variations and technical layout.

A strategic alliance

The first edition of the Vialattea//Bardo.Cup represents a key step in the synergy between the two resorts to strengthen the region’s sports and tourism offering. This union goes beyond a single event. In fact, the event will be repeated in the coming years using a combined format: one race on the Vialattea slopes and one on the Bardonecchia slopes, consolidating a format that celebrates territorial integration through high-level skiing.

“We want this event to become a fixed appointment to showcase our talents and highlight the excellence of our facilities to the world,” say the organizers. “The permanent involvement of both locations reflects our willingness to work together, giving young athletes the opportunity to compete on the best slopes of both ski areas.”

The Vialattea//Bardo 2026/27 Season Pass, awarded to the winners of each category, is personal, nominative, and non-transferable.
