  • 43rd LAURETANA GOLDEN EGG FIRST DAY OF COMPETITIONS, YOUNGER ATHLETES IN THE SPOTLIGHT TOMORROW

43rd UOVO D'ORO LAURETANA DAY 1
YOUNGER ATHLETES IN THE SPOTLIGHT TOMORROW

28 March 2026

The 43rd edition of the Lauretana Golden Egg has kicked off in Sestriere. On Saturday 28 March, athletes from the Allievi and Ragazzi categories took to the slopes, officially opening the traditional end-of-season event of the Vialattea ski area. The event, spread over two days of competition, will continue tomorrow with the Cuccioli, Baby and Super-Baby categories.

This first day was marked by a strong competitive spirit, but also by a festive atmosphere that involved both spectators and participants, in a still distinctly wintery setting with slopes in excellent condition. In the finish area, the sponsor village brought colour and liveliness to the event, while all athletes received the traditional chocolate egg as a sweet preview of Easter.

The winners of this first day of the 2026 edition, starting with the oldest category (Allievi), were Laura Fontana from Sci Club Valchisone and Giacomo Senigagliesi from Sci Club Lancia. In the Ragazzi category, Margherita Bianca Scialla from Sci Club Sauze 2012 and Carlo Bertazzini from Sci Club Borgata Sestriere claimed victory.

Attention now turns to Sunday, entirely dedicated to the youngest athletes. In addition to the races, the programme includes an afternoon celebration at 2:00 pm, featuring the parade of Ski Clubs through the streets of the town, accompanied by the Villar Perosa Band. This will be followed by the awards ceremony and prize draw for athletes competing on the second day, held in Piazza Fraiteve.

To find out the overall winner of the 43rd Lauretana Golden Egg, we will have to wait a little longer: the final verdict will come at the end of tomorrow’s races.
