44TH CESANA–SESTRIERE READY TO GET UNDERWAY

08 July 2026

From 10 to 12 July 2026, the legendary Cesana–Sestriere hill climb, organised by the Automobile Club Torino, returns for its 44th edition. Held under the patronage of the Metropolitan City of Turin, the Piedmont Region, the municipalities of Cesana Torinese and Sestriere, CONI Piemonte and the Unione Montana dei Comuni Olimpici Via Lattea, the event is one of the most prestigious and eagerly awaited fixtures on the international calendar. It counts towards both the FIA Historic Hill Climb Championship (European Championship) and the CIVSA – Italian Historic Hill Climb Championship.

The leading names in historic motorsport will compete over the 10.400-kilometre course along Provincial Road 23, linking the two municipalities of the Vialattea ski area. The highly technical and spectacular route climbs from 1,350 metres above sea level in Cesana Torinese to 2,035 metres at the Sestriere Pass, featuring breathtaking hairpins and fast sweeping bends that will test both the drivers’ courage and the reliability of their cars.

The 2026 edition promises to be particularly exciting, not only because of the event’s prestigious history but also thanks to the closely fought battle for the Italian championship. Ahead of the Piedmont round, the seasonal CIVSA standings remain extremely competitive, reflecting the strict division of cars into five historic categories based on year of manufacture and technical specifications.

The packed weekend programme begins on Friday 10 July with administrative and scrutineering checks. On Saturday 11 July, from 10:30 am, engines will fire up for the two official practice sessions. Then, on Sunday 12 July at 9:00 am, the green light will signal the start of the single-run race.

Alongside the sporting competition, the Cesana–Sestriere Experience will once again provide an elegant showcase, with its concours d’élégance and parade of exclusive cars taking to the course ahead of the competitors.

Automobile Club Torino invites motorsport enthusiasts and the media to experience the unique spectacle of a legend that continues to race.
