An adrenaline-fuelled weekend awaits at Vialattea on 22 and 23 August, with the penultimate round of the Italian Downhill Mountain Bike Cup taking place in Sestriere. Competitors will reach the summit of Monte Fraiteve by cable car, before making their way along the transfer route to the start area of the “Down Tower” track at the Sestriere Bike Park.
Official practice sessions are scheduled for the morning of Saturday 22 August. The qualifying run will get underway at 1.30pm, determining the starting grid for Sunday 23 August’s final, which will start at 1.00pm.
Spectators will be able to follow the race by taking the Fraiteve cable car and then walking or cycling down to the start area, following a short transfer along the high-mountain road running alongside Monte Fraiteve.
The weekend of 22 and 23 August will also be the final weekend of operation for Vialattea’s lifts in Sestriere — namely the Fraiteve cable car and Nube d’Argento chairlift — as well as the Rocce Nere chairlift in Sauze d’Oulx. The Sportinia chairlift will remain in operation until 30 August.
