The Vialattea presented today in Turin, in the extraordinary location of the Intesa Sanpaolo skyscraper, the novelties for the upcoming 2023/2024 winter season.
As usual, the conference was attended by politicians, representatives of the institutions, police forces and entrepreneurs, and numerous personalities involved with the territory and the world of tourism and snow.
Various aspects were discussed at the conference, from the performance of the last winter season to future plans, with a focus on business strategies and investments. In addition, a lot of space was also dedicated to the problematic situation of climate change and to the study developed by a team of experts from Météo-France, which illustrated the analysis of future snowfall scenarios in the Vialattea ski area.
Operating in the field of tourism, leisure and services,‘ said Giovanni Brasso, President of Sestrieres SpA, ‘we felt it was necessary to investigate the topic of climate. This initiative of ours, which is already widely used in foreign ski resorts, is only intended to enable us to plan all business strategies with as much information as possible.
Taking advantage also of what we have learnt from the studies developed by the experts of Météo-France,‘ continues Brasso, ‘we have made an important investment in snowmaking in the Sestriere area. This year we are renewing about 7,500 metres of line, and in the next few years we plan to renew a further 16,000 metres, using avant-garde equipment for a maximum efficiency.
