SESTRIERE JOINS THE CLUB 5 SKI CLASSICS

08 May 2025

During the 2025 FIS Technical Spring Meetings in Vilamoura, Portugal, the Organizing Committee of the Sestriere Fis Ski World Cup was officially welcomed into the Club 5 Ski Classics, the prestigious network that brings together the most iconic and historic organizing committee of the Alpine skiing world cup.

This important recognition rewards Sestriere’s and Vialattea’s longstanding tradition of sports, organization, and success: from the first edition in 1967 to the 2006 Winter Olympics, up to the most recent Alpine Ski World Cup events featuring the world’s best athletes on the slopes of the Colle.

Joining the Club 5 confirms Sestriere’s status among the great classics of international skiing and highlights its commitment to maintaining organizational excellence, honoring its history while always looking towards the future.

“Becoming part of Club 5 is a great source of pride for our committee and for the territory we represent.
It is a recognition of the hard work carried out over many years and a motivation to continue growing, always with passion and professionalism. I would like to thank President Rainer Senoner, the entire board and the other committees for welcoming us into the association,” commented Gualtiero Brasso, President of the Organizing Committee, who attended the event in Portugal together with Race Director Elena Gaja.

This milestone is shared with all those who, over the years, have believed in and invested in the growth of the event – from institutions such as Regione Piemonte and the Municipality of Sestriere to the many partners who have collaborated along this journey.

The Sestriere Alpine Ski World Cup Organizing Committee looks ahead with enthusiasm: ready to take on new challenges with the goal of making each edition even more worthy of the remarkable history it represents.
